Joining a fraternity or sorority is a life-long commitment to fraternal values of leadership. IFC fraternities and Panhellenic聽sororities select their members through a recruitment process, often referred to as 鈥渇ormal recruitment.鈥� The聽IFC and Panhellenic organizations聽at the 91社区 have both formal and informal recruitment processes. Formal recruitment for fraternities and sororities are held during the fall semester with all聽chapters聽while informal recruitment occurs during聽the聽spring semester (some chapters聽may choose not to participate).

NPHC/NALFO fraternities and sororities select their members through a process known as intake. Each chapter is responsible聽for when and how intake will occur and can occur anytime throughout the year.
